The team at Pure Cornwall are absolutely delighted to offer this spacious brand new 4 bed Eco House, located on the North Coast of Cornwall, offering awe inspiring sea views and 5 star luxury.
You will be immediately struck by the sea views from every room when you arrive at Wave Watch, and will most likely be absorbed by the busy life on the beach below, and stormy waves breaking against the harbour wall and headlands. Jaws will drop when you check out both of the upstairs king size bedrooms with floor to ceiling windows and un-interrupted views of the sea. The living space is open plan and filled with fantastic light, whilst fold back patio doors step out onto a wrap around decked balcony, where you can enjoy sunsets on one side, and beach life and mesmeric seascapes all round.
The house itself has been built and finished to the highest quality, with sustainability and green credentials at the core of the design (majority of power is from renewable energy). It has a distinctly modern feel including flat screen TVs and iPod docking stations in every room, a designer kitchen with breakfast bar, 3 large contemporary bathrooms with large walk in showers, a wet room, and the master bathroom also features a free standing bath. Scandinavian furniture provides a stylish relaxing ambience throughout the living space. The house also caters particularly well for children, with details such as low-level children’s hand rails on the stair wells, a private fenced garden, table football, and brightly coloured bean bags and children’s crockery. Books, toys and DVDs are also provided.
On a practical level, there is parking for four cars, a large surf board rack, and a wet room with hanging rail for wetsuits and showering before heading upstairs. The large balcony provides ample space to kick back and absorb the dramatic landscape and breathe in the sea air.
Portreath itself is a peaceful seaside retreat boasting a secluded sandy beach (world famous for boogey boarding) and a picturesque harbour. It is positioned approx halfway between Newquay and St Ives, both of which are within 35 mins reach. Portreath is just 3 miles from the A30, and less than 10 mins to the train station at Redruth, which is on the London Paddington to Penzance line.
Just below the house on the beach you will see the roof of the renowned Portreath surf club and lifesavers club, where would be surf champions and athletes travel from across Devon and Cornwall. Surfers themselves are well catered for with the excellent Atlantic Café on the beach, 4 pubs, the village bakery, the store and 2 surf shops. Children will lose themselves in the wondrous Tehidy woods at the edge of the village, where they can catch a magical theatrical production under the trees, and older children might enjoy the miles of BMX and mountain bike courses at ‘The Track” or the cycle path along the old mining trail from the North to the South coast . If the views and surfing are not enough to satiate the adults, then 2 golf courses are nearby, a 5 star spa resort with great restaurant is less than a 10 min walk from the house, and the coastal path is on the door step.
