Padstow is only a ferry ride away and perhaps the best regarded fishing village on the North Coast and is still a working port. The pretty cobbled streets and fisherman’s cottages provide a classic Cornish backdrop to the busy stone harbour, home to the local fishing and day boats many of which can be hired or chartered during the summer months for fishing or scenic trips.
Wadebridge is the nearest comprehensive shopping centre sitting on the banks of the Camel River and as a former market town has a great atmosphere and historical links. The Camel Valley has a super biking trail which runs all the way to Bodmin through some of Cornwall’s most scenic and beautiful countryside, in places hugging the banks of this ancient river.
